About me
Hello! I am a graduate student at UNC/NCSU pursuing my M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in MedTech Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
I graduated from Stanford University in 2022 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, with a concentration in Product Design.
Outside of academics, I am a student-athlete compete in the hammer throw on the varsity track and field team at UNC. And when I'm not competing and at practice I am dog-sitting, hiking, or exploring new coffee shops!
Cascade Medical lLc
SCOPE DESIGN
Over the past 11 months my team, Cascade Medical LLC has been working on creating a device to change the way thoracoscopy is performed.
In May of 2022, I started as a volunteer at UNC Health to discover unmet clinical needs. I spent over 105 hours within the clinical space interviewing clinicians and shadowing surgical during procedures.
After that phase, we finalized our need statement and are currently working on prototyping our device. Our long-term goal is to bring this product to market so we are maintaining a DHF, filing a provisional patent, and creating a funding plan.
As a founder, I have the responsibility of being a project manager to organize our team and keep us on track as well as the lead in design engineering where I design our scope in CAD.

CATHETER HUBS
One project that I worked on was designing catheter introducer system. We initially spent our time on CAD and designing the hubs and then moved into the fabrication lab where we decided to injection mold our parts for manufacturing.
Working with an injection mold machine sent us back to CAD where I designed the mold halves for our product. We received hands on experience working with the machining tools to print out hubs.
We then formed our catheters by hand with Zeus Inc. where we learned the process of manufacturing catheters and the common practices used by manufacturers.
When all the pieces of our system were printed and assembled we designed packaging using a thermoform tray and tyvek packaging.
SPartan Fit Nutrition
LABEL DESIGN
In 2020, I worked as a graphic design intern for a supplement company called Spartan Fit Nutrition.
While I was there, I was tasked with rebranding the company, which included redesigning their current supplement labels.
We started with creating a consistent brand by creating a Branding Guide with typography, main and accent colors, and a brand pattern.
I then used these elements and incorporated them into the label design so that customers would recognize our brand in stores and in the gym environment.
I also gained experience working with manufacturers to print and label our supplements so that we could ensure quality products for our customers.
